Hi Bob and congrats on your new position at Newberry. I'm a little jealous, because there are few indoor places I like more than libraries. I am a regular at the Glen Ellyn Public Library and wish I could go there every day. Hey, you were writing about the flamingos . . . the ones in Ohio were actually in Warren County, near Cincinnati. Not Warren the city. My wife used to work in Warren, a few miles from the big Lordstown car factory. In any case, the flamingo story is quite amazing. I've still never seen one in the wild.
Oh my! I would have failed my seventh grade Ohio history class with that mistake. I tried to see wild flamingos on Providenciales, in Turks and Caicos, and just barely missed them!
