Thanks for the perspective on Mark Catesby. I rather love his illustrations. They seem fresh, in a world where the other guy's pix have been seen so many times they've left afterimages in my visual cortex.
Yay for bird art! I do love vintage naturalist art. Without photographs they had to convey and complete and accurate image of the species. Today we can be more expressive in art, but both the new and old are enjoyable.
