"The World of Monty and Rose" limited edition map now on sale

Introducing “The World of Monty and Rose,” a hand-drawn map by New World Cartography in Green Pond, S.C., featuring key places in the lives of endangered Piping Plovers Monty and Rose. This watercolor map is printed on heavy bond paper, and dimensions are 17.8” wide by 10” tall. Locations featured on the map are:

• Pellston, Michigan, home to the University of Michigan Biological Station where the Detroit Zoo manages a captive rearing facility for Great Lakes Piping Plovers.

• Wilderness State Park, where one of Monty’s ancestors hatched.

• Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, where Monty’s parents were hatched.

• Silver Lake State Park, where Monty was hatched.

• Muskegon State Park, where Rose was hatched.

• Waukegan, where Monty and Rose met and attempted to nest in 2018.

• Montrose Beach, where Monty and Rose have nested the past two years.
