Sure. I don't know about British college life, but it reminds me of some of the traditions in U.S. colleges, I guess Skull and Bones is an example. Often exclusionary, often all-male, wealthy, etc.

Great story! Saw my first lawn robin last week and heard my first woodcock last night (Eastern Massachusetts), right on schedule.
The robins are singing this morning, first time in 2025!
