I enjoyed your comments about juncos and the Holden Arboretum. I grew up in Chicago and ended up living next to the Arb.

Glanced out my window and saw two large American crows, enjoying some suet that had fallen out of the feeder. I was surprised to see them in my suburban St. Louis backyard, but also delighted!

Black Capped Chickadee! By NY’s Day end we had a Cooper’s Hawk miss it’s meal at our feeder and then sit on our phone wire, then dived into a bush after Sparrows - missed again. ✨

A feeder potpourri of Northern Cardinal (male), house finch (male), and house sparrows, with a crowd of dark-eyed juncos and mourning doves underneath eating the leftovers! Suburban Chicago-style :)

Sounds familiar - the doves and juncos do the same here!
